This deck stain calculator takes the walking surface area of the deck, the linear length and height of railing to coat, the number of coats, a waste allowance for porous boards and touch-ups, and the manufacturer coverage per gallon from the product label. It returns the exact gallon figure and the whole-gallon purchase count so material lists, purchase orders, and job tickets share one deterministic number. The same pure arithmetic powers the free browser widget and the paid API path, so a homeowner quote and a contractor batch job never disagree on how much sealer a 320-square-foot deck with forty-eight feet of three-foot rail needs for two coats at two hundred square feet per gallon.

The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.
