FAQ

What venous blood pH range does this calculator use?

A fixed adult venous teaching interval of 7.31–7.41 inclusive. pH below 7.31 is acidemia, 7.31–7.41 is normal, and pH above 7.41 is alkalemia. Arterial tables (typically 7.35–7.45) are a different contract.

What is the difference between acidemia and alkalemia?

Acidemia means the measured venous pH is below the lower reference bound. Alkalemia means it is above the upper bound. Those words name the pH state; acidosis and alkalosis name the process and are not classified here.

What happens if the pH is outside 6.5 to 8?

The request fails with invalid_input. Values outside the plausible physiologic range 6.5 to 8 are rejected rather than clamped into acidemia or alkalemia, and they are not billed.

Is the venous blood pH calculator free?

The browser tool runs free on your device. API calls use prepaid KIT balance at $0.002 per successful item; validation failures are not charged.

Is this a medical diagnosis?

No. It is an educational classification of a single venous pH against a published teaching interval. It does not replace a full blood-gas panel, clinical assessment, or professional medical advice.

The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.
