How to use it

Enter your values in the form above. The tool checks them before calculating and shows the result on the same page.

Check your inputs

Use the labels and units shown next to each field. If something is missing or outside the allowed range, the page points to the field to fix.

Use it again or automate it

Use the browser tool for individual checks and the API when you need the same capability in an automated workflow.

Get an answer now

Enter one set of values and see the result without building a spreadsheet or script.

Compare scenarios

Change one value at a time and rerun the calculation to understand what affects the result.

Automate repeated work

Use the API when the same calculation needs to run inside your product or workflow.

How is urine output rate calculated?

Divide collected urine volume in milliliters by the product of body mass in kilograms and collection hours. The primary result is milliliters per kilogram per hour (mL/kg/h).

What happens if hours or weight is zero?

The request fails with invalid_input. A zero collection interval or a zero body mass cannot define milliliters per kilogram per hour, so the engine rejects it rather than returning Infinity.

What does teaching_band mean?

It is an adult educational label: anuria below 0.3 mL/kg/h, oliguria below 0.5, adequate from 0.5 through 2, and high above 2. It is not a diagnosis and does not apply pediatric cutoffs.

How do I format the input?

Send urine_volume, weight, and hours as finite numbers (for example 840, 70, and 12). Volume may be zero; weight and hours must be strictly greater than zero. Documented aliases such as volume_ml, weight_kg, and duration are also accepted.

What does the urine output calculator cost?

The browser tool is free and runs locally. API requests use prepaid KIT balance at $0.002 per successful item; invalid input is not charged.

Everything on this page is available programmatically. This section is for teams who want to wire it into their own systems; everyone else can just use the tool above.

POSThttps://api.kit.forhosting.com/health/urine-output

Prefer to automate it? One authenticated POST creates the task; the result comes back by webhook or a signed link. The same capability also runs here on the web, by email and from Telegram — and soon from our app too.

curl -X POST https://api.kit.forhosting.com/health/urine-output \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $KIT_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"urine_volume":840,"weight":70,"hours":12}'
{
  "urine_volume": 840,

  "type": "health.urine_output",
  "status": "queued",
  "_links": {
    "result": "/tasks/tsk_…/result"
  }
}

The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.
