Start and end of century

Historians, archivists, product timelines, and curriculum planners often need the exact year window of the century that holds a given calendar day—not just a vague “twenty-first century” label, but the inclusive first and last years and the concrete January first and December thirty-first bounds you can drop into filters and reports.

This capability accepts a single explicit ISO calendar date in YYYY-MM-DD form and returns the historical Gregorian century that contains it: the ordinal century number and label, the first and last years, and the inclusive first_date and last_date strings. The algorithm is pure integer arithmetic from your input only—no network calls, no wall clock, and no host timezone—so the same date always yields the same JSON. Impossible calendar days fail with a clear invalid input error and are not charged. The browser widget runs free on your device; the prepaid API charges $0.002 per successful item when servers and SDKs need the same contract.

The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.
