This standard drink calculator converts a real beverage pour into a comparable count of standard drinks from three practical inputs: serving volume in millilitres, alcohol by volume as a percentage, and the country whose official grams of pure ethanol define one drink.

Pure alcohol millilitres equal volume times ABV over one hundred; grams use the fixed ethanol density of zero point seven eight nine grams per millilitre; the drink count is that mass divided by the country's definition. A three hundred fifty-five millilitre lager at five percent ABV in the United States is about one standard drink under the fourteen-gram NIAAA figure. The arithmetic is fully deterministic finite math with no network calls, no sampling, and no date-dependent shortcuts. The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.
