FAQ

How does the quarantine food calculator work?

Send people (positive integer household size), days (positive integer isolation length), and foods (rows with name and daily_portion). The API multiplies people × days × daily_portion for each food type and returns total servings per type plus a grand total.

What happens if people or days is zero, negative, or fractional?

The task fails with invalid_input. People and days must be positive integers; a non-integer headcount or isolation window cannot produce a meaningful pantry serving budget and is not billed.

What does daily_portion mean?

Servings of that food one person eats in one day. Two rice servings per person per day for four people over fourteen days is one hundred twelve rice servings. Portions are planning units, not grams or calories.

Is this nutritional or medical advice?

No. It is a deterministic serving-budget estimate for shopping lists and kit builders. Real intake varies with age and leftovers; apply your own household multiplier if needed. It does not diagnose, treat, or recommend isolation length.

What does the quarantine food calculator cost?

The browser tool is free. API requests use prepaid KIT balance at $0.002 per successful call; invalid input is not billed.

The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.
