Given a planet's mass and radius and the orbital period you want, this calculator solves for the circular altitude above the surface that produces that period under Newtonian two-body gravity.

From Kepler's third law the orbital radius is the cube root of G times M times T squared over four pi squared, and altitude is that radius minus the planet radius. Students size low Earth orbits for ninety-minute class examples; CubeSat and constellation planners convert a target revisit or coverage period into a first-cut parking altitude before full propagators; teachers and auto-graders need a deterministic oracle that never drifts between the free browser tool and the paid API. Send mass in kilograms, desired period in seconds, and planet radius in metres; receive orbital radius and altitude in metres and kilometres, gravitational parameter mu, mean motion, circular orbital speed, and intermediate a cubed for audit. A zero period is rejected with invalid input so a singular formula never returns Infinity or NaN. Non-positive mass and radius are also rejected as non-physical under Newtonian gravity. Pricing for successful API calls is the published base of $0.002 per item; validation failures do not consume prepaid balance.
