It returns the corresponding character plus decimal, hexadecimal, octal, and eight-bit binary notation, along with a readable display value, control name when one exists, and printability information. Standard ASCII covers codes zero through 127, so the tool rejects a larger code by default instead of quietly presenting it as ordinary ASCII. When a legacy byte table genuinely requires values through 255, enable the explicit extended option. The algorithm is deterministic, local, and suitable for quick checks, teaching material, debugging notes, test fixtures, and developer tooling.

The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.

Errors

HTTP	Code	Meaning
`401`	`unauthorized`	Missing or invalid API key.
`402`	`insufficient_balance`	Your balance doesn't cover the task price.
`404`	`unknown_type`	That task type doesn't exist.
`429`	`rate_limited`	Too many requests. Use the webhook instead of polling.
