Retail and professional traders size risk in pips, yet the money that actually moves in the account depends on how large the position is, how wide one pip is for that pair, and where the market is trading right now. Enter position size in base-currency units, the quote rate as quote units per one base unit, and optionally the pip size when you are on a JPY pair or a non-standard tick. The engine applies the closed identities pip value in quote currency equals position size times pip size, and pip value in base currency equals that product divided by the quote rate. Everything is pure deterministic arithmetic with no live quote feed, no sampling, and no date-dependent shortcuts, so the same inputs always produce the same numbers for worksheets, risk scripts, and CI fixtures. The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.
