Cash flow to debt calculator
This cash flow to debt calculator measures solvency by dividing a company's operating cash flow by its total debt.
Run — free
The resulting ratio shows how much of the outstanding debt book one period of cash from operations could theoretically cover: a ratio of 0.20 means twenty percent of total debt is matched by the period's operating cash flow, while a ratio of 0.50 means half the book. Enter both amounts in the same currency, and the engine returns the decimal ratio, the same figure as a percent, and the formula used. Operating cash flow may be zero or negative to model a cash-burning period; total debt must be strictly positive because a zero or negative denominator is undefined. The work is pure deterministic arithmetic with no market feed, no network call, and no date shortcut, so the same inputs always produce the same JSON. Use the free browser widget for a single check, or the API at $0.002 per successful task when scoring many issuers or periods.
How to use it
Enter your values in the form above. The tool checks them before calculating and shows the result on the same page.
Check your inputs
Use the labels and units shown next to each field. If something is missing or outside the allowed range, the page points to the field to fix.
