Nuclear engineers, radiochemists, medical physicists, and students use this closed form to predict activity, inventory, and shielding loads without iterative solvers. You supply the decay constant λ in inverse time units, the initial amount N0 in any proportional unit (atoms, moles, or activity-equivalent counts), and the elapsed time t in the same time base used for λ. The calculator returns the remaining quantity, the dimensionless product λt, the decay factor, the fraction decayed, and the half-life ln(2)/λ when λ is positive. Negative elapsed time is rejected with a clear validation error so homework oracles never invent backward-in-time growth. The free browser tool and the paid API share one pure isomorphic function, so classroom demos and automated pipelines never diverge on the same inputs.
