This overtime pay calculator takes four everyday payroll inputs—the base hourly rate, the number of regular (straight-time) hours, the number of overtime hours, and the overtime multiplier such as one point five for time-and-a-half—and returns the regular pay line, the overtime pay line, the effective overtime hourly rate, and the gross pay for that period, all rounded cleanly to two decimal places. The algorithm is fully deterministic, so the same inputs always produce the same JSON for payroll demos, HR bots, freelancing worksheets, and continuous-integration fixtures. A negative hourly rate is rejected with a clear invalid input error, because a negative wage does not describe a valid gross-pay calculation. The browser widget runs free on your device; the prepaid API charges $0.002 per successful item when servers and SDKs need the same contract.

The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.

Published price — no tokens, no invented credits. A failed task is never charged.

Errors

HTTP	Code	Meaning
`401`	`unauthorized`	Missing or invalid API key.
`402`	`insufficient_balance`	Your balance doesn't cover the task price.
`404`	`unknown_type`	That task type doesn't exist.
`429`	`rate_limited`	Too many requests. Use the webhook instead of polling.
