The Katch-McArdle equation estimates basal metabolic rate from lean body mass rather than from total weight alone, so two people at the same scale weight but different body-fat percentages receive different resting calorie baselines.

This capability takes body weight in kilograms and body-fat percentage, computes lean mass as weight times one minus fat fraction, then applies BMR equals three hundred seventy plus twenty-one point six times lean mass in kilograms. The path is pure arithmetic with no network and no random seed, so homework checkers, coaching apps, and prepaid API clients get identical JSON every time. Body fat above one hundred percent is rejected as invalid input because lean mass cannot be negative. The browser widget runs free on your device; the prepaid API charges $0.002 per successful item when servers and SDKs need the same contract.

The API is asynchronous: the call returns a task_id immediately and the result arrives by webhook. Polling is capped at 1 req/s per task.
